It’s that time of year when many of us resolve to get in shape and shed a few pounds. Those of us at The Manor Group are part of that group of resolution makers and struggle with keeping up with our goals once the first few weeks of January have passed.
A commonly heard excuse for not going to the gym is lack of time. We are all super busy with kids, jobs and Netflix, right? Fortunately, we offer 24-hour access to our fitness center. It’s already free to our residents but we make sure it’s open all the time. No holiday closures or bad weather delays! Plus, if Netflix is still taking up too much of your free time, we provide complimentary WIFI so you can get your binge on while you work your bulge off!
Another way to keep yourself on track is to find a buddy. Walking club, Zumba classes and weight loss meetings are just a few of the wonderful community activities we have hosted so residents can get help in reaching their goals. Tell us what would help you stay accountable.
We wish you a fit and healthy 2017 and hope your resolutions become good habits. Remember that our pool season is just a few months away!
December is that time of the year when families look forward to holiday traditions. Jess Menard, Manager at Manor House Apartments, loves her hometown tree lighting ceremony.
Every year her little town of Columbia gathers together at the Locus Street Park to light up an enormous pine tree. Neighbors sip hot chocolate and eat cookies while listening to local school children singing carols. Lyrics are passed so that everyone can join in the singing. Not only is it something the whole family can enjoy, but for Jessica and the town of Columbia, it has become one of their greatest holiday traditions.
Jessica Menard has been the smiling face in the Manor House Rental Office since February of 2015 and we are thrilled to announce her recent promotion to Manager.
Jess was born and raised in Lancaster County but moved to Florida and started her career in leasing with US Navy Housing. She returned to the area to raise her two beautiful daughters, Hannah and Olivia, who keep her busy with sports and schoolwork.
Shopping, spending time with friends and family and going on walks with her dog Jax, are a few of Jess’s favorite ways to relax.
Make sure to stop by and congratulate her on her new position!
At Manor House Apartments, we consistently strive to explore new ways of giving back to those in need. This Fall we chose to host a delicious Spaghetti Dinner for Holiday Hope in Lancaster, PA. For a $5 donation, residents enjoyed a full dinner of spaghetti & meatballs, salad, dinner rolls and dessert.
Holiday Hope is dedicated to providing a Christmas to families in need who would otherwise not have one. Last year they were able to give food, clothing, and gifts to 175 families, resulting in over 500 individuals having a better holiday.
We are genuinely proud of our residents and what they continually accomplish for the community!
If you ask our residents what they love most about living at Manor House Apartments many will tell you it’s our wonderful maintenance team! Here at Manor House Apartments our main focus is customer service and making sure our residents are taken care of, which includes apartment maintenance. Our maintenance team’s main priority is to solve any obstacle in a thorough and speedy manner.
Whether it is a clogged drain, burned out lightbulb or a jammed patio door, our team members are on the job within the day. Unlike regular maintenance technicians that require you to take off work and let them in your house, with your permission, our team can make a service call while you carry on with your day. Our technicians bring card to leave at your door after each call. This allows our residents to know when a member has stopped in and explains how they have resolved the concern.
There is also no need to worry about after hours calls. With our 24-hour emergency maintenance we always have a team member on call to help with lock-outs and other urgent service requests.
While Manor House offers a beautiful 23 acre community for our four-legged friends to explore, we are lucky to be a few minutes from Beau’s Dream at Buchanan Park, one of the just three dog parks parks in the country built by Beneful’s Dream Team of DIY network star Jason Cameron, pet expert Arden Moore and Interior Design Star Nate Berkus.
Lancaster resident Angela and her dog Beau won the Beneful Dream Dog Park contest which gave a $500,000 makeover to Buchanan Dog Park. Opened in 2013, the area features a small and large dog area, both with splash pads – a doxi tunnel on the small dog side, and a tennis ball tree that launches tennis balls on the large dog side.
What a great way to beat the summer heat! If you haven’t treated your fur baby to a day at the park, grab the leash and enjoy this Lancaster City Park treasure today.
